Love is in the air! I recently reviewed The Valentine Inn by Jennifer Peel. It’s a sweet, second chance romance. I decided a fun Valentine themed drink would be the perfect drink pairing for this book!
I set out to create a cocktail that tastes delicious and is beautiful to look at. When I think of Valentine flavors, I think of strawberry and raspberry. Red and pink are obviously the dominant colors for the holiday that celebrates love. I also kept thinking about how champagne or Prosecco make any event feel extra special and romantic. The Valentine Royale Spritz was born from the marriage of those ideas!
Chambord is a magnificent black raspberry liqueur that is made in France. Three Olives Loopy Vodka is made in England and tastes fruity and sweet. Torani’s strawberry syrup adds the additional berry flavor that I was looking for and the ruby red color gives this cocktail its gorgeous color. Prosecco rosé is delicious and adds the fun, bubbly aspect of this spritz.
Make the Valentine Royale Spritz for your book club, Galentine’s or Valentine’s date! It’s pretty, delicious and fabulous! Cheers!
Valentine Royale Spritz
Makes 2 Cocktails
Ingredients:
3 ounces Three Olives Loopy Vodka
2 ounces Chambord Liqueur
2 ounces Torani Strawberry Syrup
Brut Rosé Prosecco, chilled
Strawberries for garnish
Directions:
Fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 full with ice. Add vodka, liqueur and syrup and shake for 30 seconds. Pour the mixture into two cocktail glasses, with half of the mixture in each glass. Top each with rosé. Garnish with a strawberry.
Tip: Heart strawberries are so easy to make and are an adorable garnish for the Valentine Royale Spritz. Slice a “V” shape into the top of the strawberry where the green stem is located. Remove the “V” and now the strawberry looks like a heart! Make a small vertical cut at the bottom of the strawberry and it will easily slide onto your glass.
